Sciinov Group cordially invites you to the “8th Edition: Global Congress on Gender & Sexuality Studies (Gender & Sexuality Studies 2025)” to be held as a INPERSON EVENT on September 08-10, 2025, in San Francisco, CA, USA.
Central theme of the congress: "Beyond Binaries: Reimagining Gender and Sexuality in the 21st Century"
The 8th Edition of the Global Congress on Gender and Sexuality Studies, scheduled from September 08-10, 2025, in San Francisco, CA, USA, aims to bring together scholars, activists, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to engage in critical discussions on gender and sexuality. Under the theme Beyond Binaries: Reimagining Gender and Sexuality in the 21st Century, this in-person event will explore innovative research and practices that challenge traditional norms and binary frameworks.
Context and Rationale:
In the 21st century, movements for LGBTQ+ rights, feminist activism, and intersectional social justice have significantly reshaped the global discourse around gender and sexuality. However, despite this progress, many societal structures remain tethered to outdated and restrictive notions of gender as a binary—male and female—and of sexuality as solely heterosexual. These binary models not only fail to capture the complexity and fluidity of human experiences but also perpetuate exclusion, discrimination, and violence against those who defy conventional categories.
This congress will serve as a platform to explore the urgent need to dismantle these binaries and embrace a spectrum of identities and experiences. It will highlight how individuals and communities across the globe are reimagining and reconstructing gender and sexuality to reflect the diversity and intersectionality of human life.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops, covering topics such as intersectionality, queer theory, trans identities, non-binary perspectives, feminist activism, and the role of gender in global and local contexts. This congress will also serve as a platform for collaborative networking, fostering interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the complexities of gender and sexuality
