Biography

Dalon P. Taylor is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of  Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, an Adjunct Professor in the Social Work Department at Trent University and a part-time lecturer in the University of Windsor’s Master of Social Work for Working Professionals program.  She is a PhD Candidate (ABD) in Social Work at York University.

Her dissertation focused on the historical and contemporary functioning of race and gender in shaping the adjustment and labour market experiences of racialized skilled immigrant women from the Caribbean in Canada. Her research interests include migration, immigration and skilled migration, disrupting colonial construction of women of colour and, in particular, immigrant women, race, racism, anti-Black racism, and community development-health inequities.
