For the 20267 academic year, the Center for the Study of Women in Society (CSWS) is introducing a new research fellowship for University of Oregon faculty. This fellowship offers a one-term course release to support research on any topic related to women and/or gender studies.
Each year, CSWS will award up to two Faculty Research Fellowships. One of these fellowships will prioritize applicants who hold tenure at the associate or full professor level. Fellows may opt for a course buy-out (up to $20,000, excluding OPE), during which they will maintain their full salary. Alternatively, the fellowship may be taken as a research stipend of up to $15,000.
All career and tenure-track faculty are encouraged to apply, regardless of discipline. CSWS especially welcomes proposals that explore the intersections of race and gender, with the aim of supporting scholarship on historically underrepresented groups in the U.S. Applicants from diverse backgrounds and academic fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
Faculty Research Fellows are expected to carry out their proposed research during the fellowship term, deliver a Work-in-Progress presentation, give a public talk off campus, and participate in other CSWS events throughout the fellowship year.
Additionally, applicants may still apply for standard CSWS Faculty Research Grants (up to $6,000) using the same fellowship application form.
