Biography

Paolo Cugini (Reggio Emilia, 1962) he is a priest of the catholic church. Master in Pedagogy (Parma), Philosophy (Bologna), Doctor of Theology (Theological Faculty of Emilia Romagna). From 1998 to 2013 he was a fidei missionary donum in Brazil in the State of Bahia, as parish priest and as professor of philosophy in the Catholic Faculty of Feira di Santana. He is co-founder of the Moringa Cultural Association (ACMOR) which since 2005 has been implementing in Bahia (Brazil) for cultural and political promotion. He accompanied the formation of the Faith and Politics Movement in the cities of Miguel Calmon and Tapiramutà (Bahia) and of the Moringa Movement in the city of Pintadas. In the early years he contributed to founding and accompanying the LGBT Christian group of Reggio Emilia. Since 2022 he has been part of the national board of the Tenda di Gionata association, which works on issues of faith and homosexuality, and also of the national board of the Interreligious Observatory on Violence against Women (OIVD). He is the director of the series: Different paths of the San Lorenzo Editions of Reggio Emilia. He is currently professor of philosophy and theology in the Catholic faculty of the Amazon based in Manaus.
