Olivia Peters is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of Guelph, Canada, where she studies intimate partner stalking, risk theories, and homicide prevention. She is a recipient of the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada research grant at both the masters and doctoral levels. Previously, she has worked in community-based research and advocacy for women and children in Canada, and was instrumental in developing research to inform public health initiatives in Canada. Her prior research areas include gender-based domestic violence risk assessment, homicide prevention with Indigenous communities in Canada, and assessing domestic violence prevention policing initiatives.
