Mieko Yoshihama, Ph.D. is a professor of social work at the University of Michigan and a licensed social worker. Her research and practice focus on the prevention of gender-based violence and the promotion of safety of marginalized communities. In examining the social construction of gendered disparities in disaster, she promotes more inclusive policies and program responses.
