Sebastian Coxon is Professor of Medieval German Literature at University College London (UCL) and Director of Teaching at UCL’s School of European Languages, Culture and Society. He has taught at UCL for over twenty years. His research interests include the heroic epic and gender, comedy and laughter, and the beard as a literary and iconographic motif in premodern world literature. His publications include Beards and Texts: Images of masculinity in medieval German literature (2021).
